Kickin' off Thanksgiving...

Peter and I were off on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but Bradley and Laurel Ann both had school. Since Peter doesn't have the everyday privilege of getting the kids out of bed, dressed, fed and out the door, I allowed him the experience. (I don't have it everyday either, Mom does it two days a week!) When it was time to pick up Laurel Ann, he swung by Sonic and took lunch to Bradley. Here's how they kicked off the holiday...

Beatles Rock Band! Very fun!

Peter's parents arrived from San Antonio that afternoon around 5:00. After dinner at El Jardin, Bradley received a cooking lesson from Peter's mom. Bradley wanted to make a chocolate chip cake that Peter's grandmother always made, and Kathy supervised the undertaking. She has the patience of Job...

Peter and I both love this picture because of Laurel Ann's pose in the background...

Concentration...(I tried different settings on my new camera...this one was without the flash.)

Final result...delicious!
The evening ended with everyone reading. Here Pops reads with Laurel Ann...

Bradley reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone...he finished it in two days!
Tomorrow...Day 2 of our Thanksgiving Extravaganza...

Thankful Thursday...

Our Day of Thankfulness...

Laurel Ann is thankful for her family and her friends.

Bradley is thankful for his family and friends. (I see a theme here...)

Peter is thankful that his parents and in-laws could share in our Thanksgiving Day.

Allyson is thankful for family near and far, dear friends, the freedoms we enjoy, and that there are men and women willing to give their life to protect those freedoms, and the ultimate gift of freedom given through Jesus Christ.

NaBloPoMo called...

and they're revoking my membership! We had a great weekend in San Antonio with Peter's family. I'll post pictures later this week! Just two more days to one of the best days of the year!

That girl...

Laurel Ann is on a roll...Today while I was getting dressed, Laurel Ann asked me why I was wearing a bra. I told her it was to support my chest. Her reply... "To keep 'em from flipping and flopping?" Ha Ha Ha! I totally laughed out loud! You just wait, little girl, one day you'll think "flipping and flopping!"

The cattle are glowing....

That is one version of Away in a Manger Laurel Ann sings. Another is "the catalog lowing". Crazy girl! I missed posting last night, because I laid down with Laurel Ann and went straight to sleep! As a matter of fact, it's time to go to bed now! We've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow!

Cold front!

Finally, it is cold! I love the weather! Now I'm really ready for Thanksgiving...

Another thought on Brothers and Sisters...could Scotty and Kevin adopt Rebecca's baby? Now how's that for a storyline?

Sunday evening...

Kids are in bed, and Brothers and Sisters is on! Ahhhh....what a way to end the weekend!

Post Script: Just finished the episode, and I must say- if Rebecca has an abortion, I will have to stop watching. To portray that a child's life can be taken because a mother is not sure it is the right time for her is just wrong beyond words. It is an issue for which I will not entertain any kind of defense.

On that note, I hope you have a great week!
