Adams' Award Ceremony

Thursday morning Adams had the Awards Ceremony for K, 1 and 2. Bradley made the "A" honor roll (fortunately they don't count PE grades!) and had perfect attendance, so he was pretty excited. Later that afternoon the principal grilled hot dogs for the 1st grade, so he had a pretty eventful day!

Too grown up!!

Bradley hanging with Jordan and flirting with Wren before school.

Bradley receiving his packet of awards from Mrs. Geltmeier. Funny, he didn't receive any awards for good behavior! He was consistent in getting "X" on "talks with permission" on his report card though! (Notice the hand in his pocket. I swear!)

Here is Bradley with his teachers, Mr. Rodriguez and Mrs. Geltmeier. Bradley loved both of his teachers! Mrs. Geltmeier taught reading and math and then her class went to Mr. Rodriguez for science and social studies.

This is Laurel Ann with Tommy and Mimi. They've kept LA for the last two years and were the next best things to being with family. They loved those kids like they were their own grandchildren! We are going to miss them!

Two Laurel Ann stories...

This first picture shows LA's knack for accessorizing. The milk down the front is just an added bonus...

This next one is not for the faint of heart...last night I was in the kitchen putting up dishes or something and LA walked in and asked, "Mommy, is my fish not working?" Below you will see what we saw...

No, Laurel Ann, it's not working anymore!

Our Moving Experience

OK- I've given up worrying about posting everything we've done since our last posting in March!! I'm going to start our Blog anew from today! I have no pictures, but lots of stories to tell!

This weekend we moved the bulk of our stuff to Hamilton. It felt like the bulk, but as I open closets and look in our garage, I wonder if we don't have more stuff here in Cleburne than there! Peter's dad (Jim) and his brother (Barry) came and helped us pack and load a U-haul Friday and Saturday. As we filled up with gas in Cleburne, we realized we had a flat tire on the truck. Laurel Ann and I went on ahead to Hamilton while they stayed behind to wait on a mechanic. After we arrived in Hamilton, Peter called to say they had made it to Meridian but the truck was overheating. They made it part-way up a hill outside Meridian and the truck totally died. Barry left Peter and Jim there with the truck and came on to Hamilton in Jim's car with Bradley and his cousin, Collin, in tow. They got to the house around 2:00. Peter and Jim sat in the middle of the road protecting all of our wordly goods for about 6 hours. They were finally towed by a semi to Mom and Dad's around 8:00. It was a wild day!

On Sunday, we got the truck unloaded and most of the furniture arranged. Jim helped us again which was great! He got the beds put together and helped unload the trailer. It amazingly comes out of the truck much faster than it goes in! On Monday, we spent the day pulling Bradley and Laurel Ann's stuff out of boxes and putting toys, books, etc. away. We actually got a lot accomplished considering the way our day went on Saturday!

On Monday, we were looking forward to a going-away party that our Sunday School class was having for us. We worked upstairs in the bedrooms until late afternoon, got ready and headed to Cleburne. We were running a little late and needed to get the kids supper at a drive-thru. While in line our friend, Laura, called to see where we were. I thought that was little weird, because we weren't that late. When we got to the party, everyone kept asking where we had been and if everything was OK. I was glad they were concerned for us, although I couldn't figure out why. We got there at 6:15- just 15 minutes late. After we'd been there about 10 minutes, Peter came up to me and asked if I realized the party started at 5:00!! Of course I didn't or we would have been on time!! No wonder everyone was so concerned for us! They had even called Mom and Dad in Hamilton. Needless to say, I was completely horrified! After profusely apologizing and begging for forgiveness, we enjoyed our 30 minutes that we had left! We'll definitely never forget that party!
