Field trip to Dallas...

Friday, March 28, 2008...Bradley and his class travelled to the Dallas Museum of Science and History for a field trip. Peter went along as a chaperone. Bradley's partners for the trip were Noah and Gerardo. (Bradley is going to narrate the pictures...)

It's Neil Armstrong...Houston, we have a problem!

Making bubble helmets...

The Dads who went as chaperones titled this one..."Dorks in 3-D"

We look very nice, don't we? (Don't be fooled!)

This is the real Mrs. Geltmeier's class!!
Bradley was most impressed by the fossilized dinosaur poop. When the I-Max movie opened with a dinosaur relieving himself, he knew he was going to like it! Needless to say, this was a great field trip! I WANT A SOUVENIER (sp?).

Easter Sunday

Laurel Ann and Baby Emily ready to go to church...

What a little angel...

Guess who got ahold of the camera...Reminds me of his Uncle May-May. There was always at least one close-up of Matthew on Mom's camera. One Easter he got the camera and took pictures of Nana as she's running towards him to snatch the camera from him. If you put the pictures in order and flip them, you can watch Nana running towards you in slow motion. Oh, the memories...

Of the many pictures taken, this is the best one with both looking at the camera.

On his best behavior...

Yes, Laurel Ann, you are related to him...

Easter-egg hunting at the ranch...After church, we loaded up and went to Hamilton. Nana and PaPa had Easter lunch waiting for us. It was great! Later we hunted Easter eggs and flew kites.

Nana helping Bradley get his kite up in the air. Again, we were reminded of a previous Easter when we flew kites and put Bradley over a fence to go get our kite out of a pasture. He's the only one we could lift/get over the barbed wire without getting hurt! Later that afternoon we ended up in the ER with Nana who twisted her ankle climbing down some rocks. For some reason, Easter Sundays are always eventful in Hamilton.

Isn't he cute flying his Princess kite? We were out of school the next day, so we spent the night with Nana and PaPa. Allyson got up Monday morning and drove to Dublin to meet with her new employers for next year. (They are very nice, and I'm going to enjoy working there!) Dad and PaPa took Bradley to town and drove him by Ann Whitney Elementary where he will go next year. Even though we're sad to leave Cleburne, we're all looking forward to the new opportunities in Hamilton next year.

Spring Break '08...Day 4 & 5

After a quick trip to Fort Worth for Allyson to be fingerprinted by the state of Texas (a requirement for new hires in the school district), we got the van loaded and headed to Cleburne State Park.

Bradley immediately put on his backpack (that weighed about 20lbs!) and started hiking. Here's an action shot...
Right below our shelter was a walking path that followed a creek around the campground. Bradley played there for hours. It was really neat, because as the creekbank has been washed away with rain, it has left large tree roots exposed that Bradley was able to walk and crawl through.
You can see how Laurel Ann feels about unpacking the van...

Exploring the creek...We told Bradley that the day-glo jersey kind of defeats the purpose of camouflage, but being Bradley, he didn't care!

Cheese!

Checking out the dock...The campground has a large playground that we had just finished playing on, so we decided to check out the swimming area. Needless to say, we didn't swim that day.

When smoke gets in your eyes...the joys of cooking outdoors over an open flame! The hot dogs and s'mores tasted great though! Thanks guys!

Again, Laurel Ann lets her opinion be known. Despite her appearance in the majority of our pictures, she had a great time! She loves being outdoors just as much if not more than Bradley.

On Friday morning after breakfast, the kiddos immediately wanted to take off on a hike. Here, Laurel Ann is checking out her "treasure map" to find out which way to go. We never got another picture of Bradley, because he met up with some kids in another campsite and they played for a couple of hours. We knew Bradley met a kindred spirit when we heard them talking about what characters they had bought on Star Wars Legos.
All in all, we had a great time and look forward to camping out again!
Friday evening after we got home my cousin, Barrett, called and we went to dinner with him and Melissa, a friend of his. (A "lady friend" as he put it!) We really enjoyed seeing Barrett since he's in grad school in Alabama, and we don't get to see him often. We ate at Cotton Patch and then came back to the house for a rousing game of Wii bowling. I must say, Melissa kicked everyone's rear! We all had a great time!

Spring Break '08...Day 3

Day 3 of Spring Break was somewhat more productive...we cleaned house. That afternoon we did meet our friend Hayden and his mom, Laura, at DQ for some ice cream, and then we went to Fulton to play on the playground (our park is being renovated). We enjoyed the sunshine after all of the rain on Tuesday.

Spring Break '08...Day 2

No more productive than Day 1...

Spring Break '08...Day 1

Our first day of Spring Break has been somewhat uneventful. About all we've accomplished is laundry, some major game playing and no accidents. Knock on wood, Laurel Ann has stayed dry all day! She is very proud of herself when she goes on the potty, and we have her babysitter to thank for this accomplishment! Bradley has tried to get in as much Wii-action as possible today. Of course, we enjoy playing it as much as he does! He and Peter were bowling and golfing earlier as their Mii characters- Snopp Dogg and Chewbaca.

Maybe we'll be more productive tomorrow...
